Spontaneous Healing

The excerpt this week is from an interview by Tami Simon with Dr. Jeffrey Rediger. Rediger is the Medical Director of the psychiatric institution at McLean Hospital, has researched cases labeled spontaneous healing, and published his findings in a book called Cured: The Life-Changing Science of Spontaneous Healing.

“Tami Simon: Jeffrey, how did you decide to make this topic a focus in your life?

Jeffrey Rediger: I come from a rural Midwestern farm family and my dad comes out of the Amish tradition. I went to public school during the day and at home was living in a very different worldview. The worldview of math, science, social studies, and literature is really different than a conservative worldview where the Bible is thought to be sufficient for all knowledge. I was very confused trying to figure out how to reconcile two really different worldviews….”
